Hypocrisy & Sycophancy of Bengal’s so-called Civil Society



    The so-called ‘civil society’ of Bengal (comprising of a section of playwrights, singers, filmmakers & actors) which was formed in 2007, posed themselves as neutral & impartial so far politics is concerned. But over the passage of time, they uncovered their mask and became full-fledged Trinamool activist; some of them found themselves in various committees of the railway ministry and earning hefty sums of money from the public exchequer.

    Mihir Sengupta in his inimitable style of prose has described the present state of these poor creatures and aptly termed them as “Dol Dass”.
