Oppression, Terrorism & Anarchy Cannot Be The Last Thing

Everybody in this country knows what is happening in the West Medinipur district and the border blocks of Bankura & Purulia districts, especially in Binpur block of W. Medinipur, popularly known as ‘Lalgarh’ or ‘Jangal Mahal’ consequent upon the landmine explosion on Nov 2, 2008 in Salboni on the Chief Minister’s convoy. The CPI (Maoist) opened their frontal organisation, PCPA and started series of actions, which was termed as ‘Adivasi uprising’ by a section of the press and a few intellectuals. Later, with the collaboration of the Trinamool, Congress, Jharkhand parties and with foreign aid the so-called maoists unleashed a reign of terror on the poor farmers, share-croppers, small traders by arson, loot & killing. More than 500 poor people have been slaughtered by these thugs since then. What is their aim? They have declared publicly that they want to see Ms Mamata Banerjee as the next CM of Bengal. So, the cat is out of the bag. The hoodlums are fighting for the Trinamool in eradicating CPI(M) from the Jangal Mahal.

And the Trinamool has been trying, since the 2009 Loksabha election, to create an atmosphere of terror and anarchy in the social fabric by letting loose the creatures of darkness. Right from the driving away of the Tatas from Singur to creating uproar about Rajarhat, they are making ‘Halla Bol’ only to stall the process of development in West Bengal.

In the Bengali article below the noted columnist and thinker Mr Azizul Haque tells us that it is not the tyrants but the people would write the last chapter of the history book.
